Panasonic Confirms The Company Is Phasing Out Anode Foil Operations in Knoxville, Tennessee USA

A spokesperson for Panasonic Electronic Devices has confirmed that the production of capacitor anode foil at the Knoxville facility in Tennessee USA will cease production by mid-2010. The original press release issued by the company in the June quarter stated only that the aluminum electrolytic capacitor operations in Knoxville TN USA would be consolidated into existing plants in Asia, and that the future of the foil operations was uncertain. Panasonic informed PCI Magazine in December 2009 that the decision had been made to stop producing all anode foil in Tennessee, and that final orders would be shipped in mid 2010.
